August 20th 1906 – Mysterious Wires Appear Above Victor
When Victor residents woke up on Monday, August 20th, 1906 they opened their windows and doors to see mysterious wires above their homes and businesses. A large number of wires stretched across the city, supported by massive wooden towers taller than the church steeple.
The wires all led to an abandoned horizontal mine shaft that had been barred with a dull grey metal that resisted all attempts of entry. Any man that attempted entry quickly became nauseous and violently ill within minutes.
Eventually, the residents just accepted the wires, and a few years later the wires disappeared just as mysteriously as they appeared.
